Fun facts about W.B. THAMM.

A perfectly tailored shirt jacket crafted from a vintage 1950s quilt. A sweet embroidered boxy shirt sewn from a delicate 1970s tablecloth. A breezy summer jacket that lived its first life in the 1960s as a crocheted blanket. For Utah-based designer Prangchat “Deedee” Sathianthammawit of renewed vintage destination shop W.B. THAMM, it all starts with looking to the past for inspiration, while keeping the present-day planet in mind. "I’ve experienced how the fashion industry impacts our environment. There's so much waste during the production process," she says. Determined to do her part to make a small change, Deedee began crafting her own clothes from existing vintage textiles, and it didn't take long for friends and colleagues to notice—and so W.B. THAMM was born.

While Deedee’s been reimagining vintage materials for years, the time-honored textiles she celebrates in her designs are having a big moment for spring—just ask our in-house trend expert Dayna Isom Johnson. "Crochet, quilted, and embroidered details are seeing a major revival in both fashion and home decor, signaling a desire for quality pieces with a handmade touch and a tradition of craftsmanship passed on through the decades," Dayna says. "But these aren’t simply your granny’s textiles; today, shoppers are seeking pieces that seamlessly blend a vintage aesthetic with more modern design sensibilities." And that's exactly what Deedee offers! Read on to find out more about her inspiration and process, and to explore W.B. THAMM’s stylish collection.

Why W.B. THAMM should be on your radar: Reducing our carbon footprint becomes more and more important with each passing year, and shopping Deedee's environmentally-conscious designs is a simple way to make an impact. "One small act can inspire others and create awareness on how we can protect our environment," she says. And this passion for being more sustainable is felt with each piece she creates and the time-honored textiles she relies on. "I source my materials from all over the place within the United States," she continues. "You'll find me in local vintage stores, thrift shops, estate sales, and yard sales. I buy some vintage pieces online. Also, I have few connections with antique quilt dealers who I've met during trade shows."

The best pieces for memorable gifting: With Mother's Day and Father's Day coming up, W.B. THAMM is the perfect one-stop shop for all your gifting needs, as Deedee's extensive experience in the fashion industry goes far beyond just renewed vintage. In addition to her current focus on women's style, she also sells a men's accessories line, including pocket squares and bow ties. "[The] men’s accessories line was a side hustle and a creative outlet when I was still working as a full-time fashion designer in NYC," she explains. A few of our favorite gifting options include this quilted wristlet purse and embroidered tablecloth dress for Mom, or this floral bow tie and striped pocket square handkerchief for Dad.

In their own words: "I play around with fun details such as unusual pocket placements, heart-shaped pockets, mismatched vintage buttons, and colorful interior seams. I believe details make it different, and I love being able to express my creativity!"
